Chasing Perfection is like Counting to Infinity
There is always one number beyond the highest number. There is always one more improvement after the final improvement. Perhaps infinity is not the number itself, but the process of counting to it. Perhaps perfection is not in the result but in the attempt to create it.
How I judge where I am on the scale of consumerism vs producing influences if I feel my life is well spent.

I often fantasize that our lives here are like a finger touching a pond. Even after the finger has long gone away, the ripples remain.
So I wonder what the ripples of my life will be when I'm no longer here. And I often judge that by the balance of my consumerism vs producing.
Consuming: TV, art, podcast, books, film. Producing: Writing, creating, podcasting, composing. In one scenario I remove, the other I give.
And I often judge the worth of this life based on where I feel the balance between the two lies.
Starting with a question. Distilled into an idea. Nurtured into a tool. That's how progress is born.
